Dermal Fillers Can Restore Your Youth

One of the most obvious signs of age are the wrinkles, folds, and lines that begin to develop in our faces. As we age, the skin becomes thinner, less flexible and losses collagen (the protein found in skin to give it strength), and these changes start to produce wrinkles. Additionally, the overuse of a muscle can cause wrinkles to develop, such as smile lines or furrow lines. The Smile Centre offers dermal fillers to help reverse the aging process by giving you smooth, youthful skin. We feature both BOTOX® and JUVEDERM® dermal fillers to strengthen, lift, and plump your appearance.

How BOTOX Helps

BOTOX is a common type of dermal filler that targets the underlying cause of wrinkles around the mouth and eyes—an overworked muscle. After years of smiling, laughing, frowning, or squinting, the muscles in your face that control these motions can become tense and form lines around the mouth, by the eyes or between the eyebrows. BOTOX is injected at the site of the overworked muscle, causing it to relax and preventing it from working as hard. This will visibly reduce the depth of wrinkles and smoothen out the skin at the treatment site. BOTOX can also be used in cases of TMJ therapy as a way to relax an overworked jaw joint. BOTOX can treat visible signs of aging, including:

  • Smile, laugh and frown lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Brow wrinkles
  • Furrow lines

JUVEDERM Adds Volume

JUVEDERM is a hyaluronic acid (a natural substance that delivers nutrients to the skin) dermal filler that can help add volume to areas affected by wrinkles. JUVEDERM is injected into the fine lines and wrinkles on your face to replenish the lost hyaluronic acid. This will tighten the skin by pushing out against it, also adding volume to the location. After our doctors perform the injection, the results have been known to last from one to two years, giving you a youthful appearance. JUVEDERM can enhance sunken cheeks, parenthesis lines around nose and mouth, moderate to severe facial lines, and thin, wrinkled lips.
