The Dental Care You Need—All at One Practice
It is important to visit the dentist at least twice a year for routine checkups and general cleanings. This helps us keep your mouth healthy and catch potential concerns early. Having a dentist you can trust and rely on for all your family’s dental needs is important to maintaining optimal oral health. The Smile Centre wants to be your family dentist and can offer many of the services you and everyone in your family may need. We have three convenient locations and multiple doctors on staff to ensure that nearly all your dental care can happen in-house and at a location easy for you.
Additional Services We Offer
Soft tissue recontouring
For those with excessive gum tissue (commonly known as a gummy smile), we are able to gently remove tissue to give you a more natural and aesthetically pleasing smile. This removal of excessive gums also allows for improved cleaning of teeth and can prevent cavities or gum disease from developing.
Composite fillings are more natural looking fillings used to protect teeth damaged by cavities. They are made of a plastic and glass mixture and are tooth colored to blend seamlessly into your smile.
If you have a cracked, chipped tooth, or have small gaps between teeth, we can use dental bonding to restore the appearance of your smile. Created out of tooth-colored resin, the material is bonded to your teeth to give you a bright white smile free of imperfections.
Inlays and onlays
For teeth that have been damaged by decay or trauma, but still have an adequate amount of natural structure, we can place inlays or onlays instead of a dental crown. Inlays cover damage inside the cusps of the teeth, while onlays cover damage from one or more cusps.
We offer custom fitted sports mouthguards for athletes that are created to specifically fit your mouth and teeth. A custom sports mouthguard ensures additional protection by being stronger, more comfortable and providing more support against impact. We also provide mouthguards for cases of TMJ.
We understand that accidents can happen at any time, so we make it convenient for you to receive emergency care when you need it most. By seeking dental care soon after an accident, you minimize damage to your mouth, surrounding structures and have the best chance at the issue being repaired.
For those with a tongue-or lip-tie, we can perform gentle frenectomy treatment to release the tight skin holding the tongue or lip down. The process is quick and provides nearly immediate relief from pain or speech impediment and often allows patients to begin orthodontic treatment or get dentures.
Gum recession is a common problem for many patients, where the gum line begins to recede from the teeth and exposes the sensitive tooth roots. We can restore your gum line with gum grafting by taking a sample of tissue from the roof of your mouth or a donor source and suturing it to the area where recession has occurred. This treatment improves oral health, protects your teeth and improves the appearance of your smile.
Patients with dental implants are still susceptible to the effects of gum disease, which is called peri-implantitis. We can provide treatment for this condition by removing bacteria and infected gum tissue from around an implant to restore oral health and better ensure implant success.
For those missing multiple teeth or even full arches of teeth, we can create natural looking dentures to restore form and function to your mouth. These will allow you to eat more foods, feel more confident in your appearance and improve your speech. Eventually, we recommend dental implants or full arch implant supported denture.
