Invisalign®, or clear braces, are not actually braces. They are clear custom-fitted trays that gradually move and straighten the teeth.
Invisalign® is a wonderful alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign trays are comfortable and removable; this means you will be able to maintain regular oral care throughout your treatment. No food restrictions are necessary when using Invisalign, you simply remove your trays before eating and put them back in when you have finished.
Interested in whitening your teeth? Invisalign® trays can be used as whitening trays as well as aligners.

How does it work?
Contact your Smile Centre Team in Sarasota or Venice to schedule an orthodontic examination and consultation. During your consultation you will be able to ask questions and discuss your best treatment options.
The next step will include gathering full and detailed oral records, which can be provided in one visit. This may include dental x-rays, intra-oral photos, digital photos, bite impressions, and a CT-Scan. The doctor collects these records because each guest is and their treatment plan options are unique.
After your records have been gathered, the doctor will create treatment plan options that will offer the best results for you. A 3-D digital image of your Invisalign® treatment plan options and results will be created for you to view and discuss prior to creating your Invisalign® trays. Then, your doctor will then have a set of Invisalign® trays custom-made to fit you.
Follow-up appointments are scheduled every 2 weeks. During these appointments your Smile Centre doctor will track your progress. If all is progressing well, we will give you your next set of trays and make any adjustments as needed.
Invisalign® is custom-planned and designed for each individual and an adult case typically takes one year to complete. It is possible to expedite the process if the aligners are worn 20-22 hours every day (approximately). (This does not include time for retention.)
- When your Invisalign® treatment is complete your Smile Centre clinical team will take new impressions of your straightened teeth for a retainer called Vivera®. Retainers should be worn 20-22 hours each day for the first 6 months and then every night as you sleep, basically for the remainder of your life, in order to maintain your beautiful Invisalign® results.
